rebeccaRebecca Lewis O’Brien, age 67, died Aug. 14, 2016, of heart complications at ECM Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Attwood Livingston “Al” Lewis Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Elaine “Laine” O’Brien, Charleston, South Carolina; son, Harold Francis “Bo” O’Brien III, Slidell, Louisiana; mother, Elaine McCarley Lewis (Reading Taylor Lewis), Richmond; brothers, Michael Taylor Lewis (Candace), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Steven Attwood Lewis, Newport News, Virginia, and Reading Lee Lewis, Port Charlotte, Florida; sister, Lesley Elaine Lewis, Birmingham, Alabama; nephew, Taylor Henning Lewis, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; nieces, Lindsey Michael Lewis, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Ashley Lewis Lozano, Miami, Florida, and Elaine McCarley Robins Lewis, Newport News, Virginia; and other relatives and friends.

Becky attended Coffee High School and UNA going on to enjoy a long career in the health field. Starting as a ward clerk she served many hospitals and doctors offices in the Shoals.

Becky was a devoted mother and friend to many. She was always interested in you and always so sweet and charming in making you feel better. She enjoyed needlework and calligraphy. She loved her pets.

She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed her friends, music, and Bible study.

Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church of Florence on Friday, Aug. 19, from 10-11 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 11 a.m. in the church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mitcheal Bowen, Dr. Rao Boorgu, Dr. Ricky Irons and Dr. Therese Lango and the devoted staff of ECM Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association, or Florence Animal Shelter.
