Rebecca Grace “Becky” Benson Thompson, 59, of Waterloo, passed away, Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Visitation will be Friday, August 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will be in Richardson Cemetery in Waterloo.
Becky was a loving mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She loved chasing the sunset. She was a lifelong resident of Waterloo, and a member of Cloverdale Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Jeanette Benson; brother Dale Benson.
Becky is survived by her son, Shane Thompson (Tiffany); grandchildren, Elsie and Ema Thompson; sisters, Patsy Stricklin, Anne Sharp, and Beverly Haddock; niece, Beth Benson; two special girls, Annie and Addie; special nephew, Allen; numerous other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Doug McFall, Allen McFall, Wayne Sharp, Ricky Haggard, Anthony Haddock, and Sid Sanders.
The family would like to thank Nurses at North Alabama Medical Center, Devita Dialysis, and special friend, Pat Alexander.
