Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Rebecca “Becky” Mae Campbell Ostrzycki, 85, of Huntsville, AL, formerly of Charleroi, PA, took the hands of the angels and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Becky was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hazel Green, AL.
Becky was born in North Charleroi, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Francis and Zelie (Pireaux) Campbell. She graduated from Charleroi Area High School, where she was active in cheerleading and school leadership. She and Steve married in Charleroi on June 22, 1957. She moved with her family from Charleroi to Chattanooga, TN in 1970, to Chickamauga, GA in 1973, and finally to Huntsville, AL in 1976, where she resided until her homegoing. Prior to her retirement in 2006, she was a business teacher at Berachah Academy in Huntsville for 2 years, and then worked as an Executive Secretary for SAIC for 30 years. Becky was known for the many wonderful poems she wrote, but if you asked her, the greatest achievement in her life was her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nothing was more important to her than the Lord and her family.
Becky is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Edward Ostrzycki; her children Dorae Combs and husband Tony of Meridianville, AL; Wayne Ostrzycki and wife Donna of Hazel Green, AL; Lon Ostrzycki and wife Susan of Hazel Green, AL; Ginger Pinder and husband Jeremy of Hazel Green, AL; 7 grandchildren: Jeremy (Danielle), Barbara Jean (Kenneth), Alan (Rebecca), Nicole (Chase), Rachel (Cameron), Chase (Becca), and Kaitlyn; 18 great-grandchildren: Hannah, Camy, Olivia, Paige, Caroline, Tucker, Isaac, Allison, Jayce, Layla, Sarai, Samantha, Hudson, Cooper, Madelyn, Ava, Harper, and Bella; her sister Lillian Ritchie of Monongahela, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Curtis, and Donald Campbell; her sister Carol Campbell Mossburg Robinson; her nephew Donnie Campbell; and her grandson Jeremy Ross “J.R.” Pinder.
Becky leaves behind a huge legacy of love, as evidenced by her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was the heart of her home and family. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of the love she radiated, her deep faith in the Lord, and the wisdom and grace she imparted to everyone in her life. She nurtured with a love that was both tender and strong and guided with the knowledge of the scriptures and her love for the Lord. Memories of her smile, laughter, and love will always abound and will ring out in our homes for years and years to come.
Thank you, Becky/Mom/Grandma, for the blessed life you lived, for the love you gave so freely, for the faith you shared, and for the countless memories that we will forever cherish. Your physical presence may no longer be with us, but your spirit and the impact of your faith-filled life will live in our hearts forever. We rest in the knowledge and peace that we will see you again in Heaven.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
