Rebecca “Becky” Chelette, 67, of Pocahontas, Tennessee, passed away Thursday morning, August 18, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare – Regional in Jackson, Tennessee.
A native of Memphis, she was the daughter of the late Henry Collins Hopper, Sr. (died: March 22, 2006) and Helen Marie Gibson Hopper of Pocahontas, who survives. Mrs. Chelette lived in Memphis for many years before moving to Hardeman County in 1986. She was the widow of Daniel Chelette who passed away in March, 2011.
A member of County Line Baptist Church in Tippah County, MS, she enjoyed oil painting, crocheting and her dogs. She graduated with honors, Phi Theta Kappa, from Shelby State Community College in Memphis.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Johnny (Mary Ann) Logan of Pocahontas; a daughter, Lena Marie Logan; a step-daughter, Crystal (Amos) Light of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers, Hank (Gail) Hopper of Middleton and James (Judy) Hopper of Pocahontas; three grandchildren, Brittny Angel, Bethany Marie and Brenna Rhea Logan, all of Michie, TN; three step-grandchildren, Amie, Summer and Cheyanne Light; and two great-grandchildren, Annalisia Lambert and Garrett Logan.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Sue Rapp on September 24, 2011.
