A visitation for Mrs. Rebecca “Ann” Seymour, age 71, of Ashland will be Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
Mrs. Seymour was born in Clay County and spent most of her life here. She worked at Wellborn Cabinets for several years and loved helping everyone. Ann was a regular volunteer at the area nursing homes, helping with Bingo most often. She loved yard sales and collecting whatnots but would cancel plans for friends often for doctor appointments or just to visit.
She is survived by her husband, James Richard Seymour of Ashland; four children, Terry W. Jones(Bonnie) of Ashland, Sabrina Jones Harry(Paul) of Ashland, Daisy A. Gregg(Maria Garcia) of Boaz and Megan Flournoy(David) of Lineville; three siblings, Delmer “Buddy” Hanners(Terri) of Heflin, Randy Hanners of Ashland and Gail Bowen(Terry) of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Terry, Ashley, Kevin, Rebeccah, Kelsey, Christina, Bethany and Hunter; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and lots of extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Daisy McCain Hanners; daughter, Heather Jo Strickland; sister, Frances Emory and sister-in-law, Pat Hanners.
The family will accept plants and small silk arrangements but would like donations to be made to the local nursing homes Activities Department’s.
