Rebecca Ann Lindsey Cofield, age 72, of Florence, died Dec. 14, 2014, after an extended illness. The family has issued the following statement:
“We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers for Mom and our family during this difficult time. She was loved deeply by many, and we will miss her beyond belief. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend with an unrivaled sense of humor that got us through so much. Mama we love you so much.
Further, it was her wish that we forego the funeral process; so, in keeping with her wishes, there are no plans for a memorial service.
We encourage anyone wanting to honor her life, please do so by making a contribution in her name to a charity of your choice .
Mom’s remains will be placed next to Daddy (Bill Cofield) as she wanted.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Edward Lindsey and Elizabeth Horton McKelvey, husband, Bill Cofield, daughter, Beth Cofield Grisham, grandson, Nicholas Watkins, and brother, Donald Lindsey.
Survivors are her daughters, Crystal Cofield McClure, Florence, and Leigh Ann Byrom (Larry), Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Joshua Watkins, Florence, Chelsea Watkins, Birmingham, and Mischa Post, Atlanta; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Watkins and Achilles Watkins.
