Reba Joyce WindsorReba Joyce Windsor, 81, of Albertville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on the evening of September 25, 2024. Joyce as she was known to friends, but Nana to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was, loved by many. God blessed Nana with the gifts of hospitality, and caring. She was never happier than when her home was full of family and friends surrounding her dinner table and emptying their plates. Any, and all were always welcome at her home, and she made certain you felt loved and never left with an empty stomach. She would quickly tell you how proud she was of her four sons, and that her children and grandchildren were her “pride and joy”. Nana did not
have daughter in laws. She would tell you she was blessed with daughters she gained when they married her sons. Nana served as a model for all of us by honoring her husband, placing her family first, and caring for others. She led by example as a virtuous woman who was wise, principled, and driven by her strong work ethic and values. She taught us the wonderful qualities of being caring, hardworking, and faithful. Nana was our defender, supporter, and champion in this life. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was and always will be a beloved fixture in the hearts and lives of the many people she touched with her comfort, humor, wisdom, and love. We thank God for all the blessings of our time on this earth with our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and we will cherish her memory everyday of our lives. We will talk about her, we will share the stories of her and will pass her love along to all the great grandchildren she loved, and those to come. We take comfort in knowing our Nana and Pop are together again, and in knowing she has gained a glorified body in Christ with no more grief and pain.
She was preceded in death by husband, Billy Wayne Windsor, father Beamon Powell, and mother Lola Walker Dixon, and stepmother Esther Powell. She is survived by her sons, Shannon (Kim) Massey, Sidney (Bridget) Massey, Chris Windsor, and Jason (Penni) Windsor; her grandchildren, Ryan Scott, Clay (Courtney) Massey, Casey (Brianna) Dunsmore, Cody Massey, Kaylee (Wesley) Garrett, John Windsor, Kayla (Clay) Allen, Bradley (Heatherly) Pollard, Brooke (Alex) Lands, Haley (Damion) Hood; her great grandchildren Hadley Dunsmore, Iris Westmoreland, Lilyann Dunsmore, Wren Massey, Sawyer Garrett, KJ Allen, Ridge Allen, Ryvers Allen, Gunner Hood, Hudson Pollard and Hayden Pollard; brothers and sisters Cheryl Leath, Sonny (Tammy) Dixon, Charlotte Payne, Harold (Lynn) Powell, Freida Allen, and Mark Dixon.
A Celebration of life will be held on October 1st, 2024, at Albertville First Baptist Church. Visitation from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM with services to be held at 2:00 PM. Bro.
