TUPELO – Children and their families are welcome to come enjoy the Read with a Ranger program at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center. This month’s featured story is “Under One Rock.” Children can listen to the story and then explore the hidden world of bugs, slugs, and other creatures that live under rocks.  They will learn about tiny animal communities found not only along the Parkway but also in their own backyards.  Plant native seeds in pots to take home with you to help your local pollinator community!

Read with a Ranger is a 45-minute program that is most appropriate for ages six and under, but all ages are welcome.  Participants will listen to a story, join in a fun activity, and go on an optional and easy quarter-mile hike.  Read with a Ranger features a new story on the second Saturday of the month. To confirm the time and program scheduled each month, please check on our website calendar at www.nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/calendar.htm.

This program is free to the public. The Visitor Center is located at milepost 266 on the Natchez Trace Parkway, near Tupelo, Mississippi. For additional information, call 1-800-305-7417.
