Raymond “Rusty” L. Banks, 70, of Smith Lake Community, Alabama entered into rest on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Mr. Banks was born on April 28, 1950 in Macon, Mississippi. Rusty was a self made entrepreneur as a real estate developer, as well as in the manufacturing, restaurant, marina, and RV park industries. Mr. Banks was an aircraft pilot who loved the Smith Lake area. Rusty loved developing property, operating equipment, and attending equipment auctions.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 12pm-3pm at Meek Baptist Church in Arley, where services will be held at 3pm.
Rusty is survived by his sons, Shannon Banks, and Grant Banks; life partner, Nicke Behm; brother, Michael Ray (Terri) Banks; sisters, Sandra Paulette (Gene) Moore, and Wanda Faye (Mike) Dawson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Christine Banks; and sister, Margie Lorene Krohe.
