Lee Matthews Jr. of Henderson, TNRaymond Lee Matthews, Jr. age 37 passed away Saturday morning, September 22, 2018 at his home.

He was born October 15, 1980 in Blytheville, AR the son of Raymond Lee Matthews, Sr. (Rhonda) and Chris Cox Matthews. He grew up in Chester County and attended Chester County High School. After high school he worked laying blocks with Jonathan Kitchen for a time and then at worked International Paper in Jackson. He married Jessica Laine King on May 2, 2003. They made their home in Finger. He began working for AT&T in 2007 as a line installer, where he worked until he became disabled due to brain cancer. He enjoyed working on cars, three wheelers and four wheelers, trail riding, hunting and fishing. He liked getting together with family and friends and spending time with his kids and teaching them things.

Lee is survived by his wife, Jessica Laine King Matthews of Finger; three sons, Landen Matthews of Henderson, Ethan Matthews and Jacob Matthews of Finger and a daughter, Shelby Matthews of Henderson; his father, Raymond Lee Matthews, Sr. and wife, Rhonda of Finger and his mother, Chris Cox Matthews of Henderson; four brothers, Anthony Matthews of Texas, Reed Matthews of Finger, Noel Matthews of Finger and Jake Matthews of Finger; two sisters, Echo Matthews Hopkins of Finger and Sofia Matthews of Murfreesboro, TN and grandparents, Jimmy Matthews (Claire Mae) of Henderson and Rebecca Vinson of Henderson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Justin Matthews and grandparents Robert Shelby Cox and Tina Mae Roberson Cox.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Ken Kitchen and Clint Burkhead officiating. Burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at East Main Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday.
