Raymond J. “Dad” Belew, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 22, 2023, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. He was a native of Westpoint, TN, retired from Murray Ohio, and an active member of Summertown Bible Christian Church. Raymond loved to spend time with his family, an avid coin collector, and traveling, where he enjoyed attending gun shows, coin shows, and visiting old bookstores.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paulie and Bessie Ketchum Belew; two brothers, Max Belew and Billy Belew; and three sisters, Marie Brewer, Marianne Willoughby, and Lucy Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vernie Belew of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Stephanie Todora (Paul) of Athens, AL; three brothers, C.W. Belew of Walls, MS, Pete Belew of Summertown, TN, and Ike Belew of Summertown, TN; two sisters, Peggy Belew and Shirley Berry, both of Summertown, TN; one grandchild, Hannah Haislip of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces and nephews. Those serving as pallbearers will be David Gingerich, Daniel Wengered, Joe Isbell, Bo Belew, Ricky Belew, and Darryl Nabors.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2023, with Douglas Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
