It is with a deep sadness that the family of Raymond Franklin “Frank” Vandiver, III, announces his sudden passing. Frank was a proud man in the best sense of the word. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and cousin. He took pride in his Madison County roots and in the Vandiver and McCown families from whom he descended. Frank graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Building Science. Frank did not boast in his appointment to serve as the Technical Director of the Alabama Building Commission early in his career, nor in his success in running a construction company in his hometown for more than 20 years. Rather, Frank took great pride in what he was able to provide for his wife, sons, and those around him. He was loved by many, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Martha Vandiver; his brother-in-law and sister, Kit and Mary Lynn Carlton; niece, Meredith Carlton Yessick; and in-laws, Billy and Doris Brooks, and Doyle Manley. He is survived by his loving wife, Terrie; sons, Franklin (Elina) and Will (fiancée Maggie); grandson, Sami; sister, Iris Thorpe (David); aunt, Martha Lynn Birchfield; sister-in-law, Karen Brooks Manley; brother-in-law, Greg Brooks (Kim); as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family members.

A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. with Greg Brown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life for a Child [https://lifeforachild.org/], and Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama [https://www.bgcnal.com/].
