Raymon Walton Goff, Jr., son of Raymon Walton Goff and Neill Clark Goff, died at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, AL, on January 29, 2020. He was born on March 26, 1954, at the U.S. Naval Hosptial in Oahu, Hawaii, during his father’s tour of duty as a Navy pilot during the Korean War. He grew up in his parents’ home in Rome, GA, after his father’s retirement from the Navy. He graduated from West Rome High School and Berry College with a degree in Industrial Education. After working as an inspector and draftsman for a Birmingham, AL engineering company, he spent the remainder of his working career as a teacher in the Jefferson County School System, with most of his years at Bagley School, where he helped implement the advancement of the school’s computer system and related programs. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Amy Livingston Goff, and one son, William Livingston Goff; mother, Neill Clark Goff and numerous other family members. Services will be held Sunday, February 2, 2020 at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora, AL. Visitation from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Chapel service will begin at 2:30 pm with burial following in New Horizon Memorial Gardens, Dora, AL. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Hand in Paw or Wounded Warriors.
