Raymon Huston Morring, Sr. Raymon Huston Morring, Sr., a true southern gentleman, died peacefully on February 4, 2020, after a wonderful 81 years of life. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Martha Phillips Morring; sons, Ray (Beth) and Erle; two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of very dear, lifelong friends. A fifth generation of the Madison County Morring family, Raymon was born on April 30, 1938, the son of Edward Benjamin Morring and Florence Emerson Morring.

His greatest joy in life was his family – first becoming a husband and then a father. He loved watching his boys grow up, play sports, contribute to their community and become the men he taught them to be. But truly his most favorite thing in life was being “Papa” to Tindall and Huston. He found great comfort at “the cabin” in Langston, Alabama, surrounded by the wonders of nature watching the eagles soar, catching an untold number of fish and traveling up and down the Tennessee River by boat.

Raymon was a loving, caring and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a very proud graduate of Huntsville High School Class of 1956, a student of Florence State Teacher’s College, a member of the National Guard and a long-time member of First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with the service immediately following. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Monrovia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama, Post Office Box 73, Huntsville, Alabama 35804, or to your charity of choice.

The family would like to recognize its deep appreciation for the caring, professional staff at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville as well as his caregivers Daisy Miller and Lizzy Crutcher.
