Ray Willard Ervin of Selmer, TNRay Willard Ervin age 92 of Selmer, TN was born March 2, 1928 in Pinson, TN, the son of the late George Vester and Euna Mae Tucker Ervin. He departed this life on April 28, 2020 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 1 Month, 26 Days.

Mr. Ervin was united in marriage to Olene Baker on July 2, 1955. Mrs. Ervin preceded him in death on August 8, 2012. He served our country in U. S. Army during Korea. He had worked for General Electric, owned a farm in Hornsby for 40 plus years, and was a former owner of Selmer Flower Shop for 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee were he became a Deacon Emeritus in 2019 and was also a member of the American Legion for many years.

Mr. Ervin loved to work in his yard and garden. He would take vegetables to friends and family. He spent his entire life working and taking care of his family. If anyone needed help, he would drop what he was doing and be there.

He is survived by three grandchildren: Christopher Eric Seaton and wife Stacy of Bolivar, TN, Aimee Seaton Redmon and husband Jeff of Selmer, TN, Christa Bass Tull and husband Justin of Bethel Springs, TN; seven great grandchildren: Riley and Katie Seaton, Jack Simpson, Jordan, Emilee and Luke Redmon, and one on the way; a brother, Paul Ervin and wife Mary of Ramer, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Ervin was preceded in death by his children: Glenda Sue Bass, Ronnie Lee Ervin, twin baby girls and an infant Lesa Beth Ervin; his silbings: Harlie Ervin, Vergie Barham, Lerlie Morris, Roy Neal Ervin and George Ervin.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM onThursday, April 30, 2020 at the Hatchie Cemetery in Hornsby, Tennessee with Joey Johnson officiating. Burial will follow.
