Ray Linden Lawler, age 87, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at his residence.

Linden was an electrician by trade, having worked at Lewis Electric in Russellville for 62 years and he was a jack of all trades.  He loved his Jesus and always wanted to make sure everyone knew his Jesus and would ask in every conversation.  He served as preacher, song director, and Sunday School teacher for many years, being a long-time member of Gravel Hill Baptist, Adams Memorial, and Grace Life Baptist churches.  He enjoyed his time working with the WWWR Radio station. Linden always wanted to take care of everyone, always willing to do whatever was needed.  He had a passion for gardening, his cows, and loved his little fur baby, Loki.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and “Poppa” and loved his whole family.  He especially enjoyed being around “Braxy” and they were big buddies.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandchild, Ava Rea Garrison; parents, Barnie and Zadie (Hargett) Lawler; siblings, Perry James, Eddie Lawler, Sandra Lawler, and Diana Lynn Lawler

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Linda Jones Lawler; children, Michael Brett Lawler (Debra), Jeremy Shane Lawler (Tonya), Jessica JaRae Craig; grandchildren, Gabe Lawler (Sierra), Elijah Lawler (Brooke), Levi Lawler, Braxton Craig, Angela Garrison (Kitt), Charlie Peppers; great-grandchildren, Colt Peppers, Jerica Peppers, Reagan Garrison; a host of nieces & nephews, Brandon (father of Braxton); and his special fur baby, Loki.

A celebration of his life will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 03, 2024, at Gravel Hill Baptist Church.  He will be buried at Lawler Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice of North Alabama, and especially to Jessica, Brittany, Kathy, and Tiona, for your love and care of our family.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
