On Monday, February 12, 2024, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Randall “Randy” Leslie Darling, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loved ones, at home.
A memorial service honoring the life of Randy will be 11 AM, Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Marty Merrit officiating and Steve Ausburn bringing personal reflections. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Randy was born on November 30, 1954, in Memphis TN, to the late Mary Lou Ausburn Darling and Lester Ray Darling. He received his education from the Olive Branch Public School System before serving in the National Guard from 1972 until 1978. Randy was valued employee of New Albany Light Gas & Water, as a welder, for 24 years.
A Christian and member of Beulah Baptist Church, Randy loved the simple things in life. He had a passion for welding, as well as the outdoors. Some of his favorite things included hunting, fishing, reloading and shooting his own shells, and listening to the sound of Stevie Ray Vaughn. Randy was very family oriented and loved spending time with family, especially the ones that called him “PaPa”, his grandchildren. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lisa Anne Bagwell Darling, three sons, Randall Jason Darling of Dumas, Zachary Randall Verrell (Julia) of Tupelo, Leslie Allen “Les” Darling (Brooklyn) of New Albany, one sister, Deborah Darling of Tupelo and three grandchildren, Tristan, Aria, and Rosie Darling. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Darling and one grandson, Wyatt Darling.
New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care invites you to share memories with the Darling family.
