  Randall “Randy” Bernard Messick Profile PhotoRandall Bernard “Randy” Messick, 75, resident of Columbia, passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center on Monday, January 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, and son.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

The family suggest donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Randy was born January 24, 1948 in Harmony, North Carolina and was the son of the late Bristol Alexander Messick and the late Connie Paul Messick. He attended Columbia Central High School and graduated from Columbus College in Columbus, Georgia. He Served in the United States Army Infantry as a Drill Sargent from 1968 to 1970. Randy was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carlene Dillehay Messick; children, Angela (Jason) Cavanagh of Fayetteville, NC, Alex (Marissa) Messick of Gulf Shores, AL, Beth (Scotty) Eastep, Richard (Tabby) Perko, Ashley (Archie) Morrow; grandchildren, Cole Cavanagh, Zack Perko, Rieves Eastep, Brady Cavanagh, Grace Cavanagh, Luke Perko, Philip Eastep, Taylor Whiteside, Lila Eastep, Rylee Whiteside, Logan Eastep, and Arch Morrow; brother, Ray (Diane) Messick; sisters, Linda Craig, and Paula Harris; and his four legged pal, Henry.

Randy was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan. He and Carlene loved hiking and vacationing at the beach, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. His brother and sisters were his loving family, his children were the joy of his life, and his grandchildren were his reason for living!
