Ralph V. Stroud, 82, of Rogersville, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born February 9, 1941, in Clanton, Alabama to Louis Vinson and Ruby Ellen Williams Stroud. Ralph graduated from Sweet Water High School (Sweet Water, AL) in 1960. After high school he served in the Air Force, then started a career as an electrician.

 

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ruby; sisters, Mary, Sarah, and Ophelia. he was loved and is survived by his wife, Linda; brother Joseph (Pat); children and their families, Vince (Susan), Harold, and Darold (Mayte); grandchildren, Marc, Brianna, Julia, Austin, Ryan, and Cole.

 

Ralph enjoyed training horses, being in the fields cutting hay, Alabama football, and a large extended family. In youth he loved cars and working with his hands. As a father he taught his sons the value of hard work and enjoyed coaching and supporting them in their athletic pursuits.

 

A visitation will be Saturday, May 13th from 10-11 a.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
