Ralph N. Parker, 88 of Dora, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 4, 24 at his residence.
Mr. Parker was a retired District Engineer from the State of Alabama Highway Department. He was a faithful member, Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Dora First Baptist Church, where he also sang in the choir, was involved with numerous committees and groups, and went on many mission trips. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served seven years in the Alabama National Guard. He was an avid Auburn fan. He was a jack of all trades. His family said he loved golf and fishing and made the best pecan pies anywhere around. More than anything else, he loved God, his family and his church, in that order.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Parker and an infant daughter, Susan Kaye Parker.
Survivors include his daughter Linda Spears and husband Randy; grandchildren, Maggie Pitts (Adam) and Sara Beth Spears; great grandchildren, Davis, Parker and Sydney; brother, Wayne Parker (Jackie); sister, Charlotte Perkins (Ron); several other family members and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Dora First Baptist Church at P.O. Box 357 Dora, AL 35062
Memorial services will be Thursday June 6, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Dora First Baptist Church. Pastor Zac Bozeman and Rev.. Ken Mostella will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm at the church.
His cremains will be laid to rest alongside his wife and daughter in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
