Ralph Mullinax, 80, of Oakman, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at home. Family will receive friends Friday, August 21, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Service will follow at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will be at Day Cemetery. George Barrera will officiate. Mr. Mullinax worked for 40 years in the coal industry, retiring from the Drummond Coal Company. He served as a Director on the Walker County ALFA board. He served in leadership roles as an elder at Woodland Trace Chruch of Christ and deacon at Oakman Church of Christ. He enjoyed all things outdoors, working on his farm, hunting, fishing, and introducing his grandchildren to those things. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Mullinax; siblings, Jerry Mullinax, Martie Wade, and LaRue Norris; in laws, Lee and Annie Laurie Parsons. He is survived by his wife, Jane Mullinax; daughters, Lisa Thrash (Al) and Melanie Moore (Wayne); brother, Richard Mullinax (Mary); grandchildren, Lauren Young (Dayne), Lee Moore, Will Thrash and Luke Moore; great grandchildren, Layla Jane Young and Carter Elyse Young. Honorary Pallbearers are George Barrera, Ken Watson, Casey Vague, Phil Griffin, Tommy Ayers, James Davidson, Robert Cheatwood, Ted Evans, Mickey Drummond, Nick Bass, Bill Clark, and Ronnie Burton. Pallbearers are Lee Moore, Will Thrash, Luke Moore, Mark Norris, Ronnie Blackwell, Ricky Blackwell, Chance Mullinax, and Randy Mullinax. Gifts may be made in Memory of Ralph Mullinax to the Woodland Trace Benevolence fund.
