Ralph Marshall GreenRalph Marshall Green was born in Kimball, West Virginia on August 25, 1943 and
passed away in Athens, AL on May 24, 2019.

Ralph joined the United States Air Force immediately after graduating from Mullins
High School in 1961. He served honorably for 27 years and attained the rank of
Senior Master Sergeant. His service awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross,
Outstanding Unit Award with Valor and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross among
several others. He remained dedicated to Veterans issues and military history,
spending many hours volunteering at the Alabama Veterans Museum in Athens,
Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Beulah Burks Green and brother
Kenneth Green. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris Stacey Green of
Elkmont, Alabama, brother Tommy Green of Union, West Virginia, daughters Lisa
Fortenberry (Hughston) of Elkmont, Alabama, Gail Van Goethem (Frank) of Jerome,
Michigan and Stephanie Wilson (Kevin) of Jacksonville, Florida. Grandchildren
include Bree Scott (Dustin) of Anderson, Alabama and Braeden Wilson of
Jacksonville, Florida as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the tireless efforts of all of the
wonderful caregivers at Athens-Limestone Hospital, Huntsville Hospital, UAB
Hospital, and especially the caregivers and staff at Limestone Health Facility. A
special thanks to everyone at the Alabama Veterans Museum in Athens, Alabama.
Ralph was a very loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend who
will be truly missed. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping
hand to anyone in need.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the
Alabama Veterans Museum or the charity of your choice to honor his legacy.

Visitation will be held at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama on
Monday, May 27, 2019 from 6-8pm. Funeral service, officiated by Danny McMullins,
will follow on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 beginning at 11am at Limestone Chapel
Funeral Home with burial to follow at Evans Cemetery.
