ralph-gudbaur-obituaryRalph Leonard Gudbaur, age 66 of Huntsville, took the hand of his Savior on Friday, May 9th his son’s home in Huntsville after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ralph enjoyed nothing more than time spent with his family. His personality and charm quickly won him many friends and he was fiercely loyal to them. He proudly served in the Navy Reserves for 4 years during the Vietnam Era as a Corpsman. His final wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes spread in the Gulf to honor his time in the Navy. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Lee Pierce, Sr., step-father Frederick Gudbaur, mother Martha M. Carter, and oldest sister Mardel Byrd.

He is survived by his three sons Heath Ferry, his wife Cathy, their children Courtney and Savannah of Huntsville; Kenneth Ferry and his family of Queen City, AZ, Kevin Gudbaur and his children Kylie and Noah, two daughters Kerri Gudbaur Harris and her children, Jeremy, Tristen, and Trinity, and Kendra Gudbaur Mixon of Texas, eight surviving sisters, Katie Wade, Barbara Capps, Tina Hardin, Rebecca J. Patterson, Mary J. Pierce, Dianna L. Jacobs, Virginia L. Smith, and Johnnye M. Padarathsingh, two half brothers, Paul D. and Ralph W. Pierce, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to express our sincerest and deepest gratitude to the staff of Southern Care Hospice of Huntsville and Pilots For Christ of Monroeville, AL for all of the hard work and dedication that allowed us the time with him and all of our church family that spent time with and prayed for him. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 6:00 P.M., at the Whitesburg Baptist Center, 7300 Whitesburg Drive Huntsville, Alabama 35802.
