Ralph H. Roden, 84, Sheffield, passed peacefully surrounded by family on April 3, 2024 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 11, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The memorial service will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel.
Ralph was a 1957 graduate of Sheffield School and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 477. Ralph enjoyed coin collecting, metal detecting, and time with his family and his beloved dog, Callie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Juanita Roden; and stepson, David Robinson.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Martha Roden; daughter, Belene Howell (Richard); his stepchildren, Debbie Johnson, Diane Pounders (Ricky), Chris Burcham, and Scott Burcham (Chasity); sister, Betty Pace (Ron); eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
The family would like to thank Madeline Hayes with Alabama Hospice of the Shoals for her care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ralph’s honor to the Colbert County Animal Shelter, or a charity of your choice.
