Ralph Eugene Silk, 95 of Centre, Alabama, formerly of Arab passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, in Merritt Island, Florida. He was born December 19, 1928, in St. Charles, Illinois the son of Harvey C. Silk and Melva Drury Silk. He served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged November 10, 1947. He was retired from Lockheed Martin and after retirement he and his wife, Sylvia volunteered for the Madison County Sherrif’s Department Auxiliary and many other organizations.
He is survived by his son: George Silk; grandchildren: Wesley Brown and Ashley Melton; great grandson: Maddux Brown; son-in-law: Randy Melton; brothers: Ron Silk (Gail) and Larry Silk; sisters: Linda Wheatley (Simon), Joyce Boe, Ann Ream (Dale) and Sharon Polk (Cecil); host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Sylvia Westman Silk; daughter: Cheryl Melton; grandson: Steven Brown; parents: Harvey Silk and Melva Silk; stepmother: Dolly Silk; sister: Marjorie Silk; brothers: Eddie Silk and Gene Slover.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Eddie Nation officiating. The burial will be in Brookwood Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
