Ralph Edwin Cason passed away at home Sunday evening at the age of 61, after a long battle with cancer.

Ralph was fixing cars and helping people for most of his life. A lifelong resident of Madison County, mostly right here in Huntsville. Ralph loved his family, his friends and working on just about anything. His parents were Claude and Elfriade Cason, a retired military couple who owned the service station where Ralph grew up. The grease was under his fingernails at an early age, almost from his days at Grissom High School in south Huntsville. Ralph was a good mechanic, working primarily at OK Tires on Clinton for Arthur and Dinky Dockery for nearly 30 years.

For most the past ten years Ralph was in the fight of his life. But while cancer was his greatest challenge, it never stopped Ralph from serving others. Whether he was working out of the back of his car or fixing a friend’s equipment at his house, Ralph could make almost anything run again. He loved taking care of people and problems. He was never too busy to take a call or to give some helpful advice no matter the problem. Like his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, “He didn’t come to this world to be served, but to serve others.”  Ralph Cason was a good servant and a good friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Josh Cason. He is survived by his two sons, David and Nic (Bud), one step-daughter Nicki, three siblings Claudia, Freddy, Brian and wife Bonita.

Visitation for Mr. Cason will be Wednesday September 1st, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home. A service will be held on Thursday September 2nd at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Berryhill Funeral Home with Reverend Rob Peavy will be officiating
