Ralph Dunn Hollingsworth, age 87, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2021 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Dr. David Evans and Brother Martin Babb officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with Ronnie Hollingsworth, Jerry Dozier, Michael Hollingsworth, Justin Hollingsworth, Chris Hollingsworth, Blake Hollingsworth, Gavin Hollingsworth, Jack Hollingsworth and Andy Mason serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10am until the hour of service at 2pm.
Mr. Hollingsworth was born October 26, 1934 in Barren Plains to the late James “Pete” and Dottsie Dunn Hollingsworth. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the co-owner and operator of Hollingsworth Tire and Fuel until his retirement. He was a long-time member of the Springfield Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He also enjoyed his years of being a Mason and earned his 32nd Degree. He loved fishing and his family.
In addition to his parents Mr. Hollingsworth is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Blankenship Hollingsworth, his brother, Jimmy Hollingsworth, and his sister, Christine Dozier.
Mr. Hollingsworth is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Lee and Betsy Hollingsworth and Glenn Mark and Debbie Hollingsworth; brother, Glenn Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Hollingsworth, Chris (Jessica) Hollingsworth, Victoria Hollingsworth, Justin (Laura) Hollingsworth, Blake (Kimberly) Hollingsworth and Laura Kaye (Allan) Crawford.
