Ralph Danny “Dan” Robins

Ralph Danny “Dan” Robins died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024 at Baptist Hospital-Oxford after a brief period of declining health. Dan was 80 years old. Born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on Feb. 29, 1944 to the late Ralph Robins and Jerry Cooper Robins, he graduated from Ponca City, Ok. High School and received his BS degree from Tahlequah University. A patriotic American, Dan served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, as well as Desert Storm and retired after over 30 years in the U.S. Army Reserves. Dan married Ann Stanley Robins and to this union was born two children, Penny Robins Martin (Mike) and the late Amy Robins (McVay). Their children and the extended children survive as well. He spent his working life in the Gas Distributorship business including Sun Oil and as the Bulk Plant owner of DX Gas in Tupelo. He retired from the Loomis Corporation. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, esp. duck hunting, fishing, entertaining and taking care of his family. A full obituary will be posted soon.

A Service celebrating his life will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with his son in law, Mike Pearson officiating and his grandchildren, Cooper McVay and Mary Cullen McVay speaking. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM on Wedneday at Cotton Plant Cemetery in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, near Brinkley. Visitation will be from 4PM-7PM on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024.
