Rail Safety Day is June 4 in Tuscumbia

71af0468-d1ed-48c8-b838-874768eafedcTUSCUMBIA-Rail Safety Day is 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4 at the Tuscumbia Depot and Roundhouse, 204 W. 5th St.
The free festival includes activities for children and adults and information about safety at railroad crossings and around trains. There will also be information on water safety and weather safety along with displays by local emergency responders and health agencies. Entertainment will be provided by Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williamson and Jacob Green.
Shuttles will be available to transport patron to Spring Park for free train rides, with safety presentation. Free popcorn and water will be served. Other concessions will be available.
June is Rail Safety Month in Alabama, which ranks fourth in the country for vehicle and train collisions.
Rail Safety Day is being presented by Operation Lifesaver, Alabama Department of Transportation, Norfolk Southern Railway and Tuscumbia Parks and Recreation. For more details call 256-389-1357.
