Radford A. Pritchett, age 92, a dedicated bi-vocational pastor and devoted family man, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Radford was born November 22, 1930, on Brindlee Mountain, and his life’s journey has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Radford led a life filled with unwavering commitment, compassion, and faith. He spent 40 years working for Thiokol Chemical Corp, all the while serving as a spiritual shepherd to multiple congregations. Radford’s pastoral journey touched the hearts of many, as he led congregations at Free Home in Grant, AL, Mt. Tabor in Union Grove, AL, Ruth in Arab, AL, Mount View in Union Grove, AL, Pleasant Valley in Arab, AL, and Highland in Lacey’s Spring, AL.
Beyond his professional and spiritual pursuits, Radford was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 70 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jo Ann Pritchett, building a lifetime of cherished memories. Radford is survived by his devoted wife Jo Ann, as well as his brother, Troy Pritchett, son, Jim Pritchett, daughter, Barbara Storie, grandchildren, Josh, Hailee, and Callie Storie, and great-grandson, Keller Storie.
In honor of Radford’s memory and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, a place that provided comfort and care during his final days. Contributions can be sent to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice at 408 Martling Road, Albertville, AL 35951.
A graveside ceremony, commemorating Radford’s life, will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at 2:00 pm at Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan City. It is a time for family, friends, and those who were touched by his kindness to come together to celebrate the legacy he leaves behind.
Radford Pritchett will forever be remembered for his unwavering faith, tireless dedication, and the love he shared with his family and the countless souls he shepherded throughout his life. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
