Funeral service for Rachel Sherrill Washburn, age 86, of Decatur, will be Thursday, August 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Willis and Pastor John White officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Washburn, who died Monday, July 31, 2017, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born June 20, 1931, in Lawrence County, to Samuel Sherrill and Mary Ray Sherrill. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Washburn of Decatur; two daughters, Kaye Waller (Jim) and Leah Harper, both of Decatur; two grandchildren, Grant Harper and Heather Bolan Morgan, both of Decatur; and three great-grandchildren, Noah Dean, Anna Grace Dean, and Lydia Morgan.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama, 1316 Somerville Road, S.E., Decatur, AL.
