Rachel Williams Busse Profile PhotoRachel Leah Williams Busse was born June 1st, 1971. At 3:22pm on January 9th 2024, at the age of 52, she passed peacefully from the presence of her family into the presence of Jesus.

Rachel was a positive force of energy throughout her life, accepting everyone equally and openly. She was passionate about the things she enjoyed, and fiercely loved and protected those she cared about. She adored her children Lane, Shadden, and Olivia, and never missed an opportunity to brag about her babies.

Her greatest personal success, which she carried like a mantel of honor, was her time employed as a trauma technician in the Emergency Room at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi, where she cared for and watched over her patients and staff alike with the same fierce love as she did her own family.

Rachel was deeply loved by her family and friends. Her mark upon this world was indelible, purposeful, rich, and meaningful. She was the consummate life of the party, radiated humor and joy, and never apologized for her sassy, sarcastic wit; she will be greatly missed.

For 22 months, she fought a courageous battle against breast cancer and lung disease before entering into the victory that is obtainable only in the presence of Christ, whom she came to know in early childhood.

She is survived by her parents, Shad and Sheila Williams; brother, Michael Williams; partner and best friend, Matthew McDowell; the joys of her life, her children, Lane Busse Perdue and husband Adam Perdue, Shadden Busse, and Olivia Busse. She is also survived by Uncle Preston “Bubba” Williams, Aunt Belinda Hasenbeck and husband Jim Hasenbeck, and nephew and nieces Christopher Williams, Jessica Williams, and Alyssa Williams.

Any memorials, in lieu of flowers, should be sent to Sharon Baptist Church in Honor of Rachel Leah Williams Busse: 3514 Cravens Road, Savannah, Tennessee 38372.
