Rachel Bruton, 88, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Generations of Red Bay. She was born in Tishomingo County, MS to Ernie Malone and Lucy James Malone. She had worked in garment manufacturing and was a member of Second Street Church of Christ.
Services will be Wednesday, August 28, 12 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with David Conley officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28, 11-12 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery, Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Elton Bruton; two daughters, Rajama Johnson and Suzan Mills (Wesley); grandchildren, Mallory Cleveland (Brad) and Izaac Johnson (Jessi); great-grandchildren, Braxton, Makenley, Baker, Brady Maddon and Ezra and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her son-in-law, Randy Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Malone nephews, Mike Haney, Tim Posey, Robert Hester, Stan Malone, Anthony Harden, Terrell Pearson, Martin Carson, Keith Parrish, Wyvil Sartain, Randy Malone, Nolan Wells and Tommy Clark.
