R. V. Maze Mr. R.V. Maze, of Arab passed from this life at home Sunday at the age of 93. Mr. Maze was born December 1, 1929, in Cullman County to Isom Maze and Girtha Holloway Maze and he finished his course on February 12, 2023. Mr. Maze was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the United States Army. After serving his county, Mr. Maze returned home where he worked in construction, becoming a master stone mason. After retiring as a stone mason, Mr. Maze worked in the maintenance department for the Arab City Board of Education for 6 years.

Mr. Maze is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lavella Phillips Maze, his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jo Maze, his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Rickey Berry, his stepson, David Guger, his wife Rhonda, his stepdaughters Sherry Blackmon and Jamie Litchford, her husband: Mark, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Maze was predeceased by his first wife of 48 years, Royce Dean Maze, his brother and sister-in-law, Arlis and Edna Earl Maze, his brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Maxine Maze.

Funeral Service was 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Michael Lackey, Brother Brandon Berry and Brother Clint Maze officiating. Burial was in the Hopewell Cemetery, with Gober Funeral Chapel Directing. Visitation was 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

Pallbearers: Faron Hollaway, Barry Maze, Ben Berry, Jon Ross Hyatt, Kyle Powell, Mark Litchford, Jason Guger and Michael Blackmon. Honorary Pallbearers: Dustin Maze, James Earl Maze, Keith Maze, Tyler York, Jim Dunagan, Larry Haney, Lanny Haney, David Guger, Brian Bishop and Greg Stone.
