R. Neal Howard left this world at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 after an extended illness.
Neal was a first-aid technician for Occidental Chemical and served on the Colbert County School Board and the Alabama Association of School Boards from 1986-2004. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Juanita Howard; brother, Elvis; and daughter, Anna Jean.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janie Williams Howard; daughter, Dawn Copeland and the light of his life grandsons, Dakota and Gunnar; brothers, Bobby (Linda) and Gerald; one niece; three nephews; and one great nephew.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The graveside service will be at Mynot Cemetery Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Eric Davis officiating.
Pallbearers will be David McBride, Todd Shook, Ricky Moore, Kenneth Rutland, Michael Copeland and Ron Walker
