R.C. Landers went home to his Heavenly Father on 2-28-2024 at 93 years old. He was born in Lawrence County, Alabama & lived most of his life in the Shoals area. He was a Christian & member of Florence First Assembly, Florence, AL.
He attended Lawrence County High School. He retired from Ford Motor Company with 30 years of service. He then worked for Anderson Book Company traveling with the baseball museum & later a security guard for TNT Fireworks & Shoals Hospital.
R.C. was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather & friend to many. He loved fellowship with his brothers & sisters in Christ, loved visiting & telling stories with his family & friends, and enjoyed desserts and black coffee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Lillian (Hallmark) Landers; siblings: Elsie Landers, Elvis Landers, twin sisters: Louise Landers Brown & Baby Landers & twin brother: O.C. Landers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wanda Sizemore Landers.
His children: Ann Green (the late Gary Green) of Jasper, AL, Kenneth Landers (Dale), Debbie Gilchrist (Earl), Pamela Holt (Pat Ernst) & Michael Landers (Kim) all of Florence, AL.
Grandchildren: DeeDee Freeman (Gary), Wayne Gilchrist (Lisa), Robin Crossley (Kenny), Alisha Gilchrist, Rachael Fielder (Lynn), RoseAnn Montgomery (Tim), Bradley Landers (Rebecca), Jordon Landers & Holleigh Landers.
Great-grandchildren: Hayden Freeman (Ashley), Cody Landers (Bethany), Jacob Fielder, Brianna Gilchrist, Aslan Gilchrist, Caden Fielder, Callie Crossley, Gavin Fielder, Lily Gilchrist, Brook Box, Zaylie Landers, Kendyl Crossley, Seren Gilchrist, Rorke Landers, Kezia Gilchrist & Alora Landers.
Great-great grandchild: Addy Landers.
A homegoing celebration will be on his birthday Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm with the funeral service at 12:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home Helton Drive–Florence. The interment will take place at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens-Florence, AL. Bro. Greg Woodall, Bro. Bradley Landers & Bro. Tommy James will be officiating.
