R. C. “Bud” Barnes, Jr., 80, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Darlington Oaks Hospice. He was born August 15, 1934, to Robert Calvin Barnes, Sr., and Syble Mae Taylor Barnes. He was a Baptist in belief. He worked for 37 years as a tool and die operator for Super Sagless. An avid Ole Miss fan and jack-of-all trades, he enjoyed playing golf and mowing yards.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Castor Buse and Greg Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Mitchell Alan Barnes (Cissy) of Tishomingo; four daughters, Sherry McLemore (Ronald) of Midway, Debra Pharr (Jimmy) of Belmont, Donna Lindsey of Tishomingo, and Rhonda Lamb (Greg) of Eggville; the mother of his children, Susie South, of Tishomingo; one brother, William Robert Barnes (Mary Lou) of Ozark; three grandchildren, Adrain Lynch (Chris), Blake Lamb (Christie), and Stephanie Massey (Brandon); and five great-grandchildren, Garrett and Gavin Lynch, Carson Massey, Mariam Lynch, and Avery Massey.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Barnes; his parents; one brother, Charlie Barnes; and one sister, Sally Priddy.
Pallbearers will be Ronald McLemore, Jimmy Pharr, Greg Lamb, Blake Lamb, Chris Lynch, and Brandon Massey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Lynch, Gavin Lynch, Carson Massey, Eli Nunley, Kaden Barnes, and Jade Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday, July 5, at the funeral home.
