Quincy Omar Jelks was born in Jackson, TN on April 26, 1982, to his devoted mother, Betty (Walker) Ingram, and his father, Roy Jelks. Quincy departed his life here on earth on Monday, November 7, 2022.
Quincy devoted his life to Christ as a young boy under the leadership of the late Elder Julius DeBerry at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Humboldt, Tn.
Quincy loved his family and as he would always say he loved to “get money.” Quincy suffered most of his life from witnessing his mom become paralyzed when he was a child. Despite his childhood trauma and efforts to cope with his struggles the best way he knew, he remained selfless and loving.
He was respectful and loyal. Quincy had a little 10-year-old boy trapped inside of him who needed guidance. He loved his family, especially his daughter “Princess Amelia.” Quincy was quiet, observant, and he hated gossip. He did the best he could in his life given the few resources he had available. In his last days, he was working and taking care of his mom while taking steps to accomplish some of his personal life goals. The positive changes he made in his life will forever be cherished.
Quincy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jack and Minnie Midgett, and his very special aunt Willie Mae Jelks.
Quincy leaves to cherish his memories his mother: Betty Ingram; father: Roy Jelks; fiancée: Angelina Poulon, daughter: Amelia Jelks; bonus children: Anginay and Ivy’Anna; sisters: Olivia (Coleman) Smith, Chandra Jelks, Arnessa (Adrian) Ingram and LaKenya (Maurice) Wilson; brother: Roy “Rocky” Jelks; paternal grandparents: James and Hattie Jelks, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
May his soul rest in peace, and as Quincy always said, “Don’t say BYE; say SEE YOU LATER!”
