Quincy Lamar Patterson – Obituary

quincyReynolds Funeral Home announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mr. Quincy Lamar Patterson, 26 of Decatur, Alabama.  Mr. Patterson died September 27, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Macedonia C. P. Church in America, with Bishop Don Hurth, Officiating, Rev. Dr. G. Lynne Herring, host pastor.

Quincy was born on November 19, 1987 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Mark Patterson and Paula Orr Patterson.  He entered into eternal life on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

Quincy attended Decatur City Schools and was a 2006 graduate of Austin High School.  He was previously employed for Dutch Quality as Shipping and Receiving Clerk.  He was a quiet, humble and loving young man.  He adored his son, Kolby.  He also enjoyed fishing and his dogs.

Quincy accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Nation Harvest Church under the leadership of Bishop Don A. Hurth.    He was preceded in death by: his father, Mark Patterson; his grandfather, James Patterson; great-grandmother, Louella Pointer; and aunt, Marion Patterson.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  a son: Kolby Gamble of Decatur; his mother, Paula Orr (Anthony) Jones; stepmother, Ester Patterson; five sisters, Marla (Fred Cowan) Orr, Shanetha Patterson all of Decatur, Coretta Gholston of Dothan, Monica Pearsall of Madison, Aquanetta Jones of Decatur; two brothers, Reggie Gholston of Mount Laurel, NJ, Roosevelt Chestnut of San Antonio, TX;grandparents, the Reverend Paul Orr, Jewel Lessears and Earlene C. Patterson all of Decatur; uncles,  James Larry (Elizabeth) Patterson, the Reverend Myron (Carla) Orr, Alphonso (Sonya) Patterson,  Bishop Cary W. (Debbra) Orr, Gerald (Jauton) Orr, Paul Harris all of Decatur; aunts, Shirley Garner of Decatur, Sandra Patterson (Leroy) Jackson, Patty Patterson, Jessica (Omar) Nelson of Huntsville and Tamekia Orr of Olive Branch,  MS;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Randy Marshall, Deangelo Troupe, Omar Nelson, Stan Patterson, Lechufer Clark and P. J. Orr. The Flower Bearers will be Phinee Orr, Robin Orr, Monica Patterson, Randi Johnson, Paris Orr, Endia Wiggins, Latoya Wiggins and Tosha Patterson.
