FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department has issued a statement regarding a puppy that was thrown from a vehicle on Monday, September 12:
“Our department was called to the 2700 block of Cole Street shortly after 7p last night.
The caller advised that a black male in a white Nissan Altima with no tag and red undercarriage lights had thrown a bag out of his car window. The caller noticed the bag moving and found that it contained a small puppy. The caller gave aid to the puppy and contacted police.
Our officers responded to the scene and evaluated the condition of the animal. Florence Animal Control Officers responded to the scene and took the puppy to receive care.
Officers searched throughout the night, without success, for the suspect in this case. We will coordinate our efforts with the officers of Florence Animal Control in this case.
