FLORENCE-Mayor Steve Holt is pleased to announce that the connection
between the section of the road bounded by the Target Shopping Center and Sam’s
Club Shopping Center has been opened. Traffic is able to pass between the two
shopping centers without going to the Cox Creek Parkway intersection.
When the weather warms, they will place the final layer of asphalt; it currently has a binder layer, curbing, and can be utilized.
This effort is designed to relieve traffic congestion and pressure on two Cox Creek Parkway traffic signals. The project has been a cooperative effort among Sam’s Club,Target, and the City of Florence. Bill Batson, Florence City Engineer, has overseen the project, with coordination by Melissa Bevis, Florence Business Development Coordinator.
