HILLSBORO-Pond Spring, The General Joe Wheeler Home and Alabama Historical Commission celebrated General Joe Wheeler’s birthday at his home in North Alabama on Saturday, September, 8. There was cake and re-enactors firing a working Civil War cannon and cavalry officers performing drills as well as a tour of General Wheeler’s Pond Spring home and grounds.
