DECATUR-A special holiday shopping experience, featuring some of the best vendors from Alabama, as well as artisans and makers from nearly 20 other states, will be available at the end of October for shoppers to get a jump start on their Christmas shopping. Vintage Market Days “Pile on the Merry”, an upscale vintage-inspired market featuring original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home décor and more, will host its holiday market Oct. 29-31, 2021, at the Morgan County Celebration Arena in Decatur.
Vintage Market Days of North Alabama is a juried event who accept vendors based on variety, originality and quality of goods sold. An estimated 70 hand-selected artisans and pickers will bring truckloads of vintage, one-of-a-kind antiques, repurposed, unique holiday items, original art, consumable yummies, seasonal plantings, handmade goods and more, turning the three-day event in Decatur into a shopping experience like no other.
Along with shopping for items on your Christmas list, shoppers will be entertained with music by the Rachel Wilson Band during the three-day event and several food trucks will be on hand to please a variety of palates. Santa Claus is also expected to make a visit Saturday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“With Vintage Market Days holiday-inspired event Pile on the Merry, guests can come here to get inspired by some pretty creative vendors,” said Event Coordinator Kim Denard. “I like to think the three day event is more of an experience and kind of an escape from the stress of today’s world. The market is held indoors so weather will not be a factor and guests can shop, return and repeat. A ticket is good for free re-entry once redeemed. Vendors restock daily and you’ll notice items you didn’t see before. For free re-entry, take a selfie at our theme wall. The picture on your phone is your ticket the rest of the event once you redeem your original ticket.”
