Phyllis Mai Hallum age 70 of Smithville passed away Wednesday August 7, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Woodbury. She was born October 10, 1953, to her, mother, Gladys Cantrell and her late father Elmus “Tot” Cantrell. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Hallum; brother-in-law, Alan Bradford. Ms. Hallum was a member of Friendship The Baptist Church and worked as a Teachers Aid for more than 20 years with the DeKalb County Board of Education. She is survived by daughter, Stephanie (Scott) Moore of Woodbury; grandchildren, Wesley Hallum, Peyton Hallum, Conner Crabtree, Trey Crabtree, Blake (Emily) Moore, and Brooke Moore; great grandchildren, Blakely Moore, Ellie Moore, and Millie Moore; mother, Gladys Cantrell of Smithville; sister, Suzanne (Bill) Gash of Smithville; nieces Mandy (Paul) Talley, Rachel (Kieran) Russell; nephews, Cory (Samantha) Bradford, and Jordan (Erika) Gash; several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and special friend, Donna Knowles. Funeral services will be held 3:PM Saturday August 10, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Saturday 11:AM till the time of the services at 3:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Hallum family.
