Phyllis Devona Tomlin, 67 of Arab, died Thursday September 28, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Tomlin was born March 19, 1950 in DeKalb County to Byron Ramsey and Maedell Ruth Morrell Ramsey. She worked as a lunch room manager for Joppa Junior High School. Her husband Thomas Wayne Tomlin preceded her in death in 2000. She attended the Arab and Baileyton Senior Centers, enjoyed playing bingo and bunko and loved Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball.
She was of the United Methodist Faith.
Mrs. Tomlin is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Linda Ann Sutton and Chuck and Annette Statum and Mark; her sisters: Carol Smith and Martha Fortenberry; her grandchildren: Andy Sutton, Adam Sutton, Madison Pair and Riley Pair; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Wayne Tomlin; her parents: Byron and Maedell Ramsey; her brother: Lama Ramsey and two sisters: Janet Haynes and Ann Horner.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday October 2, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev: Mike Shirley, officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Andy Sutton, Adam Sutton, Riley Pair, Chuck Sutton, Blake Garner, Joe Fortenberry and Will Fortenberry.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday October 2, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, prior to the service.
