Phyllis Ann KirkPhyllis Ann Kirk, 74, of Rainsville, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at her home. She was born February 22, 1947 to the late Dewey and Jewel Dobbins Williams. She was a graduate of Jacksonville State University and earned a Masters Degree at the University of Alabama. Mrs. Kirk was an educator teaching at junior high, high school, and college levels. She retired from Snead State Community College. Mrs. Kirk was a supportive pastor’s wife as her husband, Gary, served in several local churches in the Sand Mountain area.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin McCreless officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of service on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Kirk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening in the new sanctuary of Broadway Baptist Church from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family is accepting flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Broadway Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gary Kirk; children, Scott Kirk and wife Carla, Todd Kirk and wife Karen, and Stacy Kirk; brother, Gerald Williams and wife Sheila; sister, Sherri Blevins and husband Arlan; grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Thomas, Derrek Lee Thomas, Wyatt Rufus Evans IV, William Rusty Kirk, Will Andrew Kirk, Kolbi Lauren Kirk, Kaci Ann Kirk, and Lacee Kirk Culpepper and husband Slade; great-grandchildren, Lucas Dale Thomas, Parker Lee Thomas, Jacey Nevaeh Robins, Abel Robins, Jayla Michelle Wigley, and Justice Claire Wigley; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
