Phyllis Adele Fussell Petty, age 84, passed away on October 10, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration service is planned for Phyllis on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Aspen Hill Methodist Church in Pulaski, Tennessee. The family will welcome family and friends for a memorial gathering from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.

Phyllis was born in San Antonio, Texas to David Haywood Fussell and Sally Blondell Stevenson Fussell on January 25, 1940. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Petty; sister, Debbie Fussell; brother, David Fussell.
She is survived by her son, Doug Taylor; stepsons, Thom Petty (Hollie), and Paul Petty; stepdaughters, Patrice Petty, and Shaun Petty; grandchildren, Kassidy Taylor, and Evey Taylor; step-grandchildren, Justin, Zach, Ian, Keithen, Bryce, and Chelsea; one great-grandchild, Mac McCart; two nephews, Shawn Fussell, and Major Fussell.
Phyllis was a woman filled with love for others. She loved her family and her church family beyond measure. She was a faithful member of Aspen Hill Methodist Church. In her leisure time, she loved to read and garden her flowers. She was a frequent traveler and really enjoyed going on cruises. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and used her energy and talents to serve others every opportunity given. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
