With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Phillip Wayne Earnest, who was born on June 14, 1968 in Okolona and passed away on August 14, 2024. He was the beloved son of Wayne and Syble Worthey Earnest and a partner to Charlotte Cruise. Phillip is survived by his three children, Andrew Earnest (Brandy Denham), Kayla Earnest (Bobby Young), and Kimberly Earnest and their mother Melanie West (Jerry); grandchildren, Shane Schmidt, Miracle Young, and Landon Baskin.
Phillip was a 1986 graduate of Okolona High School and furthered his education at Nashville Auto Diesel College where he graduated in 1987. He was a dedicated student and excelled in his studies.
Outside of his professional life, Phillip had many hobbies that brought him joy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting, and riding his four-wheeler. His love for the outdoors was evident in everything he did and he cherished any opportunity to spend time outside.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, August 26, 2024, in the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Visitation will be at the funeral on Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM, and again on Monday from 12 PM to 2 PM. Burial will take place in Lee Memorial Park.
Phillip Earnest was a loving father, partner, son, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially those who called him “Paw Paw”.
