Phillip Warren Okerberg
July 6, 1990 – April 20, 2022
Born on July 6th, 1990, Phillip was full of energy. He was always giggling and laughing. He first lived with his parents and older brother at their home in Marietta, GA, later moving to Newport Beach, CA; Duluth, GA and then grew up for most of his childhood in Huntsville, AL. A member of Huntsville High School’s Class of 2008, Phillip went on to attend the University of Alabama and graduated from Auburn University. Phillip went to Ross University in the West Indies to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical training at Purdue University in Indiana. Then he moved with his partner Lindsey Farris to Colorado, first Castle Rock and then Colorado Springs, where they practiced veterinary medicine and lived in a house full of dogs they loved.
Phil had a big heart throughout every stage of his life. He wanted to help everyone. With his quick wit and great sense of humor, he brought joy to everyone he was around and brought everyone closer together. He loved to tell stories and always had something funny to say. He worked hard and played hard, was known to be brilliant and comprehend everything quickly, and to be the life of the party. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Atlanta Braves, and loved the guitar, concerts, and music festivals. He was at peace in the outdoors, especially skiing and fly-fishing. Phil dreamed of a life filled with the things he loved and envisioned one day moving to Montana.
Phillip is survived by his brother, Carl Okerberg, mother Rhonda Okerberg, father Warren Okerberg, and grandmother, Christine Sutton, and a larger extended family. The visitation will be held Monday, April 25th beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Cove Church in Hampton Cove with a service following at 2:00 p.m. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
