Phillip Ray “Bow Tie” Swindle, 63, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. He was born February 5, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to Elzie Lee Ray and Glenda Jean Ray.
Known for his sociable spirit, Phillip never met a stranger. He cherished the company of friends and found joy in meeting new people. His professional endeavors led him to a career in the construction industry, where he dedicated his time and skill. Outside of work, woodworking served Phillip as a creative outlet and source of personal fulfillment. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, and could often be found strumming his guitar.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Phillip Ray Swindle, II and his wife, Halie, Joshua Allen Shewbart and his wife, Alex, both of Fulton; one grandson, Rhett Shewbart; five siblings, Wanda Harris of Golden, Ray Swindle and his wife, Peggy, of Fulton; Edward Swindle of Virginia; Shelia Roach and her husband, Dewayne, of Belmont, Chris Swindle and his wife, Laura, of Mantachie, and Cindy Fickett of Tremont; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Freddie Swindle.
Services honoring his life will be held at a later date.
